The Dutchman's Breeches

It was early spring last year that I found these beauties, I was poking around the falls down at Broadwater Hollow looking for another shot. Since I started photography Broadwater Hollow has been a favorite spot of mine to return to and shoot, but last year was the first time I found the elusive "Dutchman's Breeches", this year I remembered where and when and decided to have a second go at these babies.... Hope you like em...

Self Portrait - Haley Falls

Another one of my favorite places to go is Whitaker Point, its the place of the Hawksbill Crag,  but just before you get there, there is a small waterfall called Haley's Falls, name for the little girl who got lost there and was the subject of a major search & rescue operation, she was later found safe, and this fall was named after her...

I have some more pictures of this fall I will post at a later time..

Broadwater Falls Panoramic

Broadwater Falls, Compton Arkansas.

I have been traveling to this waterfall since I started working with photography, I see photography as being the person that has the most fortunate opportunity of being in the best place at the right time. Broadwater is located off of an small, steep and rugged dirt road, It is just a short hike in from the road. I have always been pleased each time I vist. The place consist of 2 lower falls the upper main fall with a nice pool. A host of wild flowers can be seen from time to time which include Shooting Stars, Trilliums, Iris, Jack in the Pulpits, Columbine and many more.
Every time I visit broadwater I try to look at it from a different view, sometimes just to enjoy the falls. I travel to my favorite spots every year, and every year I add new spots, but my one of my most favorite has always been Broadwater.

Photoshoots....

Photography...  I love it, I love all aspects of it, there is just no end to the possibilities of shots, one can not say every shot has been shot... endless
I see myself mainly a nature/landscape photographer, I enjoy the rugged wilderness, and its awe inspiring ability to remind you that your just not the only one in this world, that we are a very big part of a great creation, made by God, one can not just look at the small details of creation, and not come away without knowing truly there is a God, you see it, you feel it, and it leaves an everlasting impression on your life.
I have lately been branching out into portrait photography and I really enjoy it as well, although I am do not like the canned sessions that lacks the persons personality, which mind you is the main reason we take pictures of people so we can leave memories, I want to take pictures that remind us of the person we are looking at...

Here are a few friends I had the opportunity to work with....

FireFall

This is a shot from the Steel Creek Workshop we are going to do soon!

Early morning rise.

What a great morning it is to be able to get up, get out and get a chance to shoot some elk, maybe some scenic vistas. My plan this a.m. is to go down to Boxley Valley and see if the elk are there and then head up to the top of Cave Mountain, and see if the valley is filled with fog. Here is a shot from the other evening with a 100-400mm EF L, I was in heaven, having to shoot with this lens, I did not get that much time with it, but a man from Fayetteville was so nice to let me shoot a few with it.
